Categories of Imported Wines Will Be Diversified in Future Due to the Intensifying Competition

    In recent years, imported wines have made rapid development and even blended into many persons’daily lives. According to the latest data from China Customs, the total volume of imported wines in China market is about 0.638 billion liters in 2016, increasing 15% from one year earlier. The total amount is about 2.364 billion dollars with a 16.3% increase from the same period last year. The average price is 3.71dollars per liter with a 1% little increase year –on-year.  Both total volume and total amount are increasing but the average price has a little growth. The fact shows that imported wines have gradually been in a popular style. Besides, imported wines will keep rapid growth from 2017. Due to imported wines’deep popularization and more foreign countries enjoying the policy of zero-tariff-rates, the prices will be in a flat or down trend. At the same time, the varieties of imported wines will be diversified.


    Based on the situation of imported wines in 2016, what kind of development trends will imported wines have in 2017? Recently, the writer learned from Haiwei Liquor Trading Market that the sharp increase of imported wines will lead to more furious competition among imported wines.
