Le guide Hachette des vins was created by well-known French publishing group Hachette in 1985. As“Le Guide Michelin”in the wine industry, Le guide Hachette des vins makes star-rating assessment about French wines every year. It is one of the oldest wine buyers’guide in France, and is also one of the guides with highest sales in the world.
Le guide Hachette des vins has two tenets. One is“independent”and the other is “objective”. Because of seriously adhering to the two tenets for years, Le guide Hachette des vins has won an enormous and static readership. The number of its collected wines is gradually increasing year by year, from 5,000 varieties at the beginning up to more than 10,000 varieties right now Meanwhile, Le guide Hachette des vins makes more and more rigorous assessment about the wines. 10,000 bottles of wines selected from 40,000 bottles, instead of 8,000 bottles from 5,000 bottles, will be included into Le guide Hachette des vins of that year. Besides, 500 bottles of wines will be selected as coup de cœur, including some entry wines from unpopular appellations.

Le guide Hachette des vins is objective. It makes the evaluation only about the bottle of wine rather than about the estate. Moreover, it has no bias about wines’prices and almost covers various wines within different price ranges, including VDT wines and famous Bordeaux wines. All the wines are totally free. And no space is available for the advertisement.
Le guide Hachette des vins shall be completely updated every year. The participated wineries are also different from year to year. From Jan. to May per year, the editorial team makes a tasting tour in all French appellations and selects last year’s best vintage wines. Meanwhile, some wine professionals, such as winemakers and wine growers, will gather together and make a tasting party. In order to guarantee fairness and confidentiality of the appraisal, the editorial team makes the assessment by blind-tasting and don not charge any fees about the participated wines.

Several professional wine tasters have formed the jury and ensure the comprehensive and impartial rating. Bland-tasting guarantees that the jury can not be effected by certain wineries’ reputation. In the process of bland taste, the judges only know the wine’s appellation and vintage. They will give a zero-, one- or two-, or three-star rating about selected wines. One-star rating means “a good wine”; two-star rating means “an excellent wine”; three- star rating means “an exceptional wine”. They will make a second taste about the wines winning special favors. Among them, the“coup de cœur”will come out.

The tasting term about Sauvignon white wine in Le guide Hachette des vins 2017 said “fresh, well-balanced; rich and elegant exotic fruit bouquet with flowers aroma after even agitation; smooth, not greasy or acidic, long aftertaste.
Sauvignon white wine, one of Diyi series in Haiwei Liquor Trading Market, is the new recommended wine for meeting the consumers’demands, so as to make Diyi series more diversified and integrated.
